Our cruise to Greece took us from Athens to Ephesus Turkey. The sites were beyond belief. Seeing the Parthenon in Athens, then walking the streets, Mark Anthony and Cleopatra walked was special. Even more special was to walk the streets of Ephesus where St. Paul preached and Mary spent her last days. So many things to see. All the places the boat stopped were filled with history and wonder and all of it was made better by sharing this with my husband and my best friends.
October 18th I turned 70. Wow. I feel old but also blessed that I made it this long. 70’s a big number. What made it easier was the surprise birthday party my husband gave me. Both my ARIA author friends and my friends from my book club, the teachers I worked with, were there. Of course my son, daughter-in-law and best friends came. My husband out did himself. Everyone got a meal, a welcome drink and a desert. They also got a piece of birthday cake. Good conversations, friendly smiles and a room full of love and laughter took the sting out of turning 70. I honestly can’t say enough about the party and the love I felt that day.
