We had a great time, with pumpkin and face painting, carnival games, balloon art, vendors and authors selling their original works, there was plenty to do and to enjoy. Ben Travelyn, the street magician, was amazing. Supa Dupa provided great food and the ice cream provided by Two Scoops of Exeter was delish. We greatly appreciate our sponsors, whose generosity makes the festival possible. Several students from the Exeter Job Corp volunteered to help at all the venues and brought 8 dozen yummy cookies. Their support was invaluable and we can’t thank them and Mr. Fullmer enough. I once again worked at the pumpkin painting venue. Two students from Exeter Job Corp, did much of the prep work, setting up the paint tables before the children arrived. Of course I have to thank, Tien, the library director, for the hard work he did, getting the many pumpkins from the truck bed to the ground. It’s great he did so much of the heavy lifting. The raffles were beautiful and the quilts being raffled are always something to see. Thanks to her family, we were able to raffle a quilt made by Wanda Rose. Wanda, a great supporter of the library and the festival, passed away in 2024. Together we would sort and clean the pumpkins we received and though this is my second year without her, I will always remember her beautiful smile and hear her gentle laughter as we struggled to carry the bigger pumpkins.
